GUI
The term GUI, pronounced "gooey" stands for Graphical User Interface. Originally credited by Xerox, they updated a concept derived at Stanford University to develop the building blocks for the modern day desktop. GUIs can be found just about everywhere you turn. From Windows to Macintosh, Linux, and the X Window system, typically known as the KDE, Gnome and CDE desktops.
The advent of the GUI system has paved the way to modern application development. Providing the ability to design for greater user interaction, GUI has proved itself to be a vital technology in today's digital era.
