How to convert audio/video/DVD files for media players?

Media players often display icons known from physical devices such as tape recorders and CD players.A media player is a software program designed to play multimedia content as it streams in from a network like the Internet, or from local storage on a hard drive or other resource. A media player might be expected to understand and translate several audio and video codecs, covering many digital music and video formats.Media player is a term typically used to describe computer software for playing back multimedia files. While many media players can play both audio and video, others focus only on one media type or the other. Such players are known as either audio players or video players and often have a user interface tailored for the specific media type.

Step 1: Free download iCoolsoft Total Media Converter, install and launch it.

Step 2: Click "Add Video" button to import the audio/video files you want to convert. Click "Load DVD" button to import the DVD files you want to convert. You can also use "File" menu.

 

 

Step 3: Select the output format you need from the drop-down list of "Profile".

Step 4: Click button "Browse" to set the destination for saving the converted files.

Tips:

1. Set output parameters

Click button "Settings" then you can set Video Encoder, Video Resolution, Frame Rate, Video Bitrate, Audio Encoder, Sample Rate, Channels, and Audio Bitrate.

 

2. Preview & Take snapshot

After adding files, you can preview them in the preview pane and take snapshot of the scenes by clicking the "Camera" button.

 

3. Edit the original files

> Effect

You can click button "Effect" to adjust Brightness, Contrast and Saturation. You can also check "Deinterlacing" checkbox to avoid mosaic and improve the quality of the video.

 

> Trim

If you only want to convert a segment of the entire file or do not want to convert some certain segment of the file, you can use the trim function. Click button "Trim" and play the video in the Edit window. You can either drag triangle sliders or click "[" and "]" to set the start time and the end time. Besides, there is the third way which is to input the exact start time and end time or one of them and the time duration.

 

> Crop

To get rid of the black border or to zoom in some part of the scene, you can click button "Crop" and then drag the yellow frame or adjust the values in the boxes. You can also select "Full Screen", "Keep Original", "16:9" or "4:3" from the drop-down list of "Zoom Mode".

 

> Watermark

You can add text or picture watermark to the video. Check "Enable Watermark" and then "Text", input what you want to add in the blank. Button "T" can help you to set the font, size, color, etc. of the text.

To add picture watermark, you have to check "Picture" and click button "suspension points" to find the picture in your local disc. Dragging or adjusting the values in the boxes can help you to locate the watermark at the place you prefer.
